My site mate and I pose next to the bed net care and repair mural we painted at the clinic. This was created as part of “Malaria Month”.

From February 2016 to March 2017 I served as the committee President, for which I:

  • Managed 14 committee members located across the country
  • Organized quarterly meetings and drafted agendas
  • Oversaw the implementation of committee-initiated activities and reports
  • Directed the coordination of a Senegal-wide malaria education competition known as “Malaria Month”

The 2016-2017 committee efforts resulted in:

  • Over 200 volunteers participating in malaria outreach via educational workshops, community health talks, school initiatives, and mural paintings.
  • Over 4400 community members educated on malaria prevention and treatment.
  • 350 malaria activities carried out over the course of Malaria Month.
