Peace Care is a nonprofit organization aimed at making healthcare available to everyone by connecting communities to the resources they need.
From September 2015 to January 2017, I worked as a Project Assistant aiding Peace Care to carry out research and coordinate meetings in Kedougou, Senegal.
In September 2015, I collaborated with a fellow volunteer to conduct a barrier analysis survey to collect data related to the obstacles Senegalese women face in seeking treatment for cervical cancer. The results of our efforts informed a community-based educational program on cervical cancer outreach. I further supported program staff by assisting with their semi-annual partners’ meeting and conducting quality improvement meetings using the “client-oriented, provider-efficient” model, in a local village.
